Department of Environment visit to UMT

From July 25 to July 27, 2023, the Department of Environment (DOE) orchestrated a workshop aimed at introducing and engaging participants in discussions regarding the feasibility of the Environmental Sustainable Campus Award. This workshop took place at Primula Beach Hotel in Kuala Terengganu. The Environmental Sustainable Campus Award is a DOE initiative that seeks to instill sustainability practices within higher education institutions by empowering campus residents.
During the workshop, attendees were provided with valuable insights, and on July 27, 2023, they had the opportunity to visit Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), situated in close proximity to the workshop venue. The purpose of this visit was to share sustainability practices implemented at the UMT Campus. The DOE delegation and workshop participants were warmly received by Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Bin Ibrahim, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) of UMT, along with other faculty members. Participants were exposed to UMT’s eco-campus initiatives, including a visit to the Institute of Oceanography and Environment (INOS) gallery, as well as the Hatchery Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (Aquatrop).
Mie University Delegates Visit to UMT

UMT had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from Mie University on February 2, 2023, as part of a broader effort to advance research collaboration and sustainability initiatives. The meeting served as a platform for discussing various topics, including the SciLet Programme, staff mobility, and research collaboration, all with the overarching goal of fostering research partnership and promoting sustainable practices between the two universities. UMT researchers have a shared vision of transforming UMT into a Green Campus, and they aspire to realize this ambition through collaborative efforts with Mie University.
Sustainable Development Localization Workshop (SDG) in Kuala Nerus

MySDG Academy has cordially invited some researchers from UMT to join the SDG Localization Workshop in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu. This workshop aims to provide exposure to the participants about the Goal Sustainable Development (SDG) and how it can be integrated in development local community. This workshop is specially designed to equip community leaders local in being an agent of change that aligns with Global Goals and Plans 12th Malaysia (RMK-12). At the end of this course, participants will have a basic understanding of the SDGs and be able to design programs that will have a positive impact on socio-economic transformation society. This will not only benefit the local community but also will help in the development of our country as a whole.
